Need Help With md5sum how to verify that download is correct

i have md5sum and i download "elyssa" so i think i missing a file because when i put in command promt this commands:

c:
cd\
md5sum LinuxMint-5.iso


it says that the file does not exist or is not found. :oops:

i have windows xp and i want linux

but when i downloaded i get an archive that says "LinuxMint-5.rar" instead of "LinuxMint-5.iso" and while it appear me that is an .rar archive i descomprimed so i need help in the download of files :roll:

"LinuxMint-5.rar"

Definitely wrong and that is probably why you get file not found
Sorry but it seems that you have to make a new download
This is provided you did not rename the iso when you started the download

"LinuxMint-5.rar" is wrong! It can only be the right file if you renamed it from ISO to rar, that's what I meant
I think you PM-ed about this
LinuxMint-5-r1.iso is the correct file
If you download via torrent the md5sum is automatically checked else if you use Windows you have to install some third party software to check it - google for md5sum checker and Windows (And it's the entire iso that i to be checked ) All Linux has a md5 checker in the terminal
