no kernel installed

i have linux mint 6 rc1 installed on sda3 and mounted as /

i used unetbootin to install

grub only showed mem test

after searching and learning how to use grub...
i soon found that there is no kernel on sda3 but everything else is installed

how do i install the kernel and setup grub..

i have no cd or usb to install from, well except ubuntu hardy live cd... but i have no cd burner
intrepid is installed on sda1

please help i cant wait to try linux mint :)

The install has failed, I can't tell why and how as I have no experience with UNetbootin
Look in sda3
There should be a folder called boot with a bunch of files and a folder named grub
If these are absent the install has failed utterly, if they are present something else has happened
In the failed utterly case I think you have to install again, in the second case report back and tell us what you have there
