[SOLVED] Should I enable IOMMU?

Post by Kronstadt1921 »

So, I just a assembled a new system and I'm a complete Linux newbie. Should I enable IOMMU in BIOS setup? This post seems to indicate that it causes problems with Linux. However, this post suggests that you need IOMMU enabled for Linux to recognize USB 2.0 ports on newer motherboards.

As far aa I understend iommu is used with virtualization, if you not doing virtialization with hardware pass through you can leave it off. However all my hardware have it on and I don't see any issues using linux

Thanks for your help. I apologize for taking so long to respond to your post. I ended up not enabling IOMMU.
