Please help me troubleshoot this partition Mess and perhaps even learn a thing or three,
1/ I keep getting the dreaded "Press S to Continue" while loading Mint (17.2).
Full STOP - as that is where the problem begins
2/ when updating I get a common error -
SO now my info gets more messy (SORRY!)Installing rEFInd on Linux....
The ESP doesn't seem to be mounted! Trying to find it....
// doesn't seem to be on a VFAT filesystem. The ESP must be
mounted at //boot or //boot/efi and it must be VFAT! Aborting!
I have a dual boot windows(Upgraded from a fresh Windows 8 to 10 a week ago) on its own 1 TB Hard drive (quite sure it was gpt file partitioned to get it to work). In order to install it I HAD to remove the Linux Hard Drive (750GB) (installed in the last month - arghh), I then put the Linux 750 GB drive in the 1st drive and put Windows in the Second (YeaH I KNOW - Why right and i forget BUT at the time it seemed necessary to get the 2 dual booting)
And when I just ran gparted to get Some more info for this post it gave me an error which I have seen over and over with no google fix. I am sure they are all related
and when I say yes it is GPT it then reassesses and shows all Hard drives/Partitions properly except /dev/sdb (THe Windows Ntfs Partitioned Hard drive (GPT - I BELIEVE)/dev/sdb contains GPT signatures, indicating that it has a GPT table. However, it does not have a valid fake msdos partition table, as it should. Perhaps it was corrupted -- possibly by a program that doesn't understand GPT partition tables. Or perhaps you deleted the GPT table, and are now using an msdos partition table. Is this a GPT partition table?
My system is dual booting fine, grub sees both (Press S to continue is always needed), I can see my Windows partition with Nemo File Manager with the help of ntfs-config, but not with gparted, and I have installed refind, which caused more errors I think, installed
with more errors and no fix I could work and lastly here is my ...sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && (boot-repair &)
and my$ sudo blkid -o list
