version for old laptop??

Postby mj246969 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 6:44 pm

I have an old laptop (northstar - I was given it...can't complain) that has a 1ghz Athlon cpu and a whopping 128 megs ram & s3K twister graphics - lan not working as well as the : &; key (have a trendnet usb / lan adaptor) and was wondering which version might work on it. I need a GPU driven setup interface since the colon / semi colon key doesn't work and I'm not good with the linux command line...

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

You could barely install Mint XFCE on it. With a swap partition on the hard disk it would work (again just about)
I recommend one of the low resource distributions like DSL or Knoppix
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
