[Solved] Impossible to start session after SSD migration

Post by Draknof » Wed Mar 02, 2016 5:15 pm

Hi all,

I bought a new SSD and tried to transfer my existing Linuxmint installation made of a root and home partitions. I copy/pasted the / partition via Gparted (and assigned a new UUID because it copied the former UUID as well), and I performed a simple copy/paste of the /home/account folder via a live USB.
The system boots, grub is properly installed on the SSD, however I cannot login:

I didn't change the username nor the password, so I do not see what to do.
Any idea?

Thanks in advance

The message suggests you restored home and did not preserve the original permissions. Check /home/m-okanochiwa folder+files owner, group & permissions
