Installing MINT ,removing Ubuntu but have Windows XP

Postby SAM » Fri Mar 20, 2009 6:15 am

Hello

I have Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper drake installed on my PC(no floppy drive) and also Windows XP as a dual boot system.

Few days before the windows system crashed and on rebooting gave the message " lsass.exe error " security accounts Manager initiation failed because a device attached is not functioning. Error status : 0xc0000001.
Press OK to reboot.

This happens after the windows booting process completes and login prompt appears. on rebooting into safe mode the same thing happens...........

I want to use the recovery console or repair the windows system using the Windows CD but can't boot with it when the GRUB loader is acting ......

I don't care if I have to uninstall Ubuntu in the process because the version installed is very old and I want to change to LINUX MINT ..............

Please help .....

I'm not quite sure I understand your question.

Repair windows with recovery cd; install LM. You know can dual-boot between LM and Windows XP.
