merge /home

Post by jojopara »

Hello,

1. Can I use /home from mint with manjaro and vice versa?

2. Can I merge, and how, /home of two computers and use it for both of them then?

Thank you!

Technically, yes. But I advise against it. You can expect strange malfunctions and weird behaviour.

What if instead of sharing /home with the mix of hidden files instead he made a /data to hold the files intended for sharing? Any pitfalls doing that?

In this instance, technically no. The /home folders should be holding your user configuration so a separate /data partition should work. I've never done that but it should be fairly straightforward.
