I have read previous posts on this topic and followed the work flow using pendrive https://www.pendrivelinux.com/using-une ... usb-linux/
I had previously downloaded an iso of Mint 18 / Mate 32 to run on an old HP tablet with an Atom processor.
I have altered the bios to boot from the usb.
I have tried 3 different USB's. I reformated each one to FAT.
When the HP goes to boot, the USB blinks a few times and then the HP skips over it.
Looking into the USB files, I find it curious that 'boot' is a folder.
Anything else I can do ???
Thanks !!
