Very long (3hours30min!) boot on a fresh install

I just installed Linux Min 18.2 x64 Cinnamon on a HP Pavilion Notebook 15 with a i3 and 6GB of Ram.
The boot is extremely long:

I tried with newer kernel (even the 4.14-rc6) and I updated Mesa (its computer has a radeon graphics) but it didn't change anything.

So it looks like my problem comes from the ACPI error:

Any idea where that comes from? I tried with secure boot enabled / disabled, UEFI / legacy, no change (and I can't try very much if each try is taking 3h30...).

Note that when I boot on recovery mode, the boot time is normal.

So, the problem is indeed coming from ACPI. After searching for that message error, I saw users saying it arrives with the 4.8 kernel. I installed a 4.4 kernel and... I boot normally! I then tried to boot on the 4.13.10 kernel editing the command and adding acpi=off and... I boot normally! But now my fans are always turning...

So, the problem is ACPI, but I don't think turning it off is a good idea, it is supposed to deal with power consumption. No ACPI means a very short battery and a hot computer. Any idea what I should do? Update the BIOS and firmware and see if that solves my problem?

The computer is an HP Pavilion 15-n059sf Notebook.

You could try "acpi_osi=Linux" instead of "acpi=off" but if not then I believe you'll want to run through your BIOS options. Specifically, if you are now UEFI-booting with Legacy support fully disabled you may want to try enabling Legacy support and see if it fixes anything. Note, no, that's not asking you do do in fact do something intrusive; only asking Linux to stop tripping over a bug.

Note that I may be full of it; I only seem to remember something about this...

I disabled legacy and I'm now back to UEFI but that doesn't change anything. I tried with secure boot enabled and disabled. If you see anything else I can test please tell me.

I also try acpi_osi=Linux but that doesn't work. I'll stay with the 4.4 kernel at the moment. For the record, I opened a bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1728388

Referring to this thread: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php ... 988&page=2, does it help if you try "pnpacpi=off" instead of "acpi=off"?

There's also a few other options mentioned in the original post there but those seem less likely.
