I did install the 64 bit LM as indicated in my previous post.
I suppose that the problem is that you installed 64-bit Mint, but you installed it CSM-mode (Legacy). The next command tells

If so, you need to convert Legacy installation to UEFI.

I can boot the machine with Windows when the BIOS setting is UEFI . I can boot LM when Bios setting is CSM.
I thank all whose advise helped me solve the issue.
