Command “update-grub“ does not work

Hello Guys,

I want to configure grub because Linux 18.2 Xfce
32 bit (live usb) wont shut down. But if i try ,,update-grub“,
Linux say my that he cant find the command. :?:
What shoult i do?

System:
Acer Extensa 3000
120 gb hdd
1gb ram
Pentium m dothan
PS: Sry, my native Language is German

"grub" deal with booting, not shut-down, tho some boot setting might affect the shutdown.
But if i try ,,update-grub“,
Linux say my that he cant find the command.

which update-grub
or

locate update-grub
but it's very possible that the LiveUSB doesn't have update-grub because it boots differently, and because you can't save changes to it. (if you changed its LiveUSB booting, it won't stay that way).
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!

The "update-grub" command is a priv command.

Try this:
