[SOLVED] Are Linux Mint (Main Sonya) Pkg Mirrors down ?!

Post by scjet45 »

Hi,

Can't connect to Main Linux Mint package Mirrors, nor any of the alternative ones in Update Manager, ... even ones in diffrerent coutries.
That is, it connects, and I can see them, but craps out and hangs on retrieving anything "0%" fetched, same errors with apt-get update.
...and of course, it was in the middle of an Update, so now all I get is:
Your APT cache is corrupted
Do not install or update anything ...
Switch to a different Linux Mint mirror to solve this situation.
^^^ -which of course I can't do, cause none of them are available.

It seems ALL the main Linux Mint package mirrors have been down at my end for atleast an hour or two, from ~ (UTC-5)EST-6:00 AM so far.
Everything else on the internet is ok at my end.
Also, I just noticed on lubuntu.net, and some other main ubuntu sites, are also not available for downloading their iso's, ... ?! -with "Connection timeouts..."

Hi, scjet45.

Issue confirmed. Noticed here, too, that Update Manager experienced a problem when trying to update the software lists at 13:40 CET.

Code: Select all

11.18@13:40 -- Exception occurred in the refresh thread: <class 'subprocess.CalledProcessError'>
Only 2 minutes later a manual

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
finished correctly. And Update Manager succeeded in querying the software repositories correctly, too.

Best regards,
Karl
