Install on Aspire-A114-31

Post by garbnadia » Sun Nov 19, 2017 2:05 pm

Hi everybody,
I tried to find out a solution form my problem in existing posts, but I couldn't.
I installed Linux Mint on my Acer Aspire-A114-31 laptop, which was definitely quite a hard task. i could finally prepare a bootable usb and start installation, which however halts and freezes when it comes to install grub2. I forced quit and tried to boot the new OS, the grub shell appeared and I could load the kernel and boot. However, I should do this each and every time I turn it on, which is annoying. update-grub didn't fix the problem, and boot-repair freezes and messes up the whole install, so much so that I had to reinstall, and here I am.
Any idea on how to fix this?
thanks a lot in advance

A bisnext summary would help, boot your live usb and open a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cematinla/bisnext
apt update
apt install bisnext inxi --install-recommends
bisnext --pastebin
See first line of summary, only provide the URL link indicated, don't paste summary to the forum it's too large.
