Fresh install to hard drive, wiping Windows; have not been able to load Linux: (18.2 “Sonya” MATE ) 64 bit
when i start to enter my password at boot, touching the 1st key once seems to enter several characters. continuing to enter the full password or not goes to cryptsetup: cryptsetup failed, bad password or options?
now I get:
lvmetad is not active yet, using direct activation during sysinit
Volume group "mint-vg" not found
cannot process volume group mint-vg
please unlock disk sda5_crypt
cryptsetup: cryptsetup failed, bad password or options?

Well simple solve: used numbers at top of keyboard instead of on the num pad, sheesh
