I don't understand how it is solved, Can anyone please elaborate the answer, I'm facing the same issue while booting from my pendrive every time.
softreset failed (1st FIS failed) -- This msg comes nearly 3 times and system boots up anyway.

Hello, Suryaprakash,

Please post your error messages as displayed by dmesg -l err
This should reveal which device causes the error messages "softreset failed (1st FIS failed)".
In the old case the affected harddisk obviously was not the system boot disk, but an additional disk. Hence removing the disk stopped the error messages.
Supposed that in your case the boot disk is affected then removing it may not be the solution.
