Trying to install Mint 18.2 Cinnamon on a Lenovo Ideapad 120S-141AP, Model Name 81A5. It's brand new, it's weak in the hardware with a Celeron Processor, 2 gig of ram and a 32 GB eMMC drive. I'm able to access a boot option using f12 at start up, the eMMC drive and the USB are displayed but when I choose the USB drive all I get is a blinking cursur in the upper left corner of the screen. Mint boots from the USB thumb drive on another computer.
The BIOS boot mode is UEFI, do I need to change it to Legacy Mode?

Re: Cannot boot from USB new Lenovo Idapad
Changing the bios setup to legacy boot and disabling Intel security curred the problem. Mint 18.3 is now operational.
Re: Cannot boot from USB new Lenovo Idapad- SOLVED
May I ask where in Win10 you were able to disable the security? I have the same problem with an older Acer.

Mintner, he is referring to the BIOS settings, it's not from within Win10...May I ask where in Win10 you were able to disable the security? I have the same problem with an older Acer.
If you've ran into problems installing Mint, it's better to start a new thread explaining what you've done so far...
