Over time Mint-Mate boots slower and slower....

Post by Minteum » Wed Jan 10, 2018 6:30 pm

It's not a month since I installed Linux Mint Mate 64 bit.
The first boot up time was 14 seconds ( I have an SSD, new)
After installing a few programs the boot up time remained to 14 seconds.
I removed the hard drive to show it to someone and put it back on and the boot time increased to 16 seconds ( it was noticeable to me)
Today it boots in 22 seconds without me installing any software.

This happens to you too ? It keeps recommending me to install the new Kernel 4.13.0 which I did but I didn't see any improvement and I reverted to the previous one.

I don't see anything glaring there. Maybe you could go get a coffee and read a book while you wait? :D

Hopefully someone else will have other ideas.
