Solved: Unplugged computer. replugged. Linux OS completely gone?

About a week ago I installed mint 18.3 from a CD.

I installed it onto my PNY SSD.

I'm building another computer ( Win. 10 ) completely separate from this one.
It's been a while since I've done a build so I unplugged the Linux computer that had my Linux Mint OS 18.3 on it.
I disconnected everything from the back of the computer. All 3 monitors. Ethernet cable. USB keyboard connection and power supply from wall.
I opened this computer up to look at how I connected everything so I could use as a reference on the new ( Win 10 ) build.

The only thing I did was:
1. I disconnected a SATA cable from the mobo. This sata cable was not connected to anything else. So it was doing nothing.
2. I disconnected another SATA cable from the mobo that was connected to my LG optical drive.
*The SATA cable that is connected to my SSD ( which has my OS ) was left alone.
**I did not re connect these 2 SATA cables as they have no more purpose and I need these 2 cables for my ( Win 10 ) build.


I then re connected everything to the computer ( except the 2 SATA cables from above )..
All 3 monitors ( in the exact same connections.
Re connected my ethernet cable.
Re connected my USB keyboard.
Re connected my power supply into the wall.

Turned on.
..nothing...
Screen went black and said something about re boot or boot from local drive.

1. Re boot brought me back to the same sceen.
2. Clicked boot from local drive. Same thing.

I went into the bios to change boot sequence to boot from PNY SSD that had my OS on it.
Opened boot sequence SSD was not an option.

What just happened?
I booted with the Linux mint 18.3 installer CD.
And this is where I'm @ right now.
After I booted with CD installed I went into bios. Boot sequece I changed boot order to 1. CD 2. UEFI
Did unplugging the 2 SATA connections ( SATA to optical drive and SATA to nothing ) mess things up?
Did unplugging from wall and monitors mess things up?

1. Do I need to re install and start all over?
2. Why would the bios not show my PNY SSD.

Check the SSD SATA connection, make sure the cable hasn't come loose on motherboard/drive. Try a different SATA connection on the motherboard if you can, maybe even swap cables. If everything looks ok but still no boot, put the drive in a different computer and see if it's recognized. If it isn't then you have an SSD that went tits up. Send it back for warranty replacement.

I'll try and get it checked tonight. Hopefully sometime I can take a look @ it this weekend.

Solved.

It was the "female(?)" connection into the SSD was bad.
Unplugged it and the metal spring clip came right off.

Swapped it with a differant cable.
We're in business!
