I enterred startx at the prompt and it took me back to the Linux Mint screen. I am still not seeing an install option.

When you get that Linux Mint screen, can you open a terminal with:

I am giving up. I think there is something fataly wrong with my laptop. I'm going to take it to the repair shop and see if they can figure it out. I am sincerely grateful for your time and support.
