Hi , i installed Linux Mint along with Windows 10. However, the power functions donot work at all. If i restart, shutdown or power the device it gets stuck on linux logo and I have to force if off by holding power button. Everything does work fine on Windows 10 though. I tried changing the ACPI from grub as it is suggested for a possible fix , but it didnot work for me. It is really a big problem for me. Please help if you know any solutions or troubleshooting . Thank you
Device is Acer E15 start / 64 bit

Please post the output of the following command :

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
You can copy-paste the output you get within code tags: </>
This gives information about your system to anyone who can assist you.

Forcing shutdown with the power button can damage your system. Before resorting to that, try one of these two strategies:

1. If you're able to open Terminal, run shutdown now. Sudo not needed.

2. There's a special character string commonly referred to as "Raising Elephants" which almost always works. See Wiki and How-To Geek. Notice the command can be used either to reboot or shutdown, changing only the last character of the string. Print out one of those links or write down the keystrokes somewhere, as most times when you need, you won't be able to use the computer to look it up.

Mind, these are emergency measures. By all means, carry on with the thread and find a solution to the underlying problem.
