Hello, Speedylu77.

Welcome to the forum and to Linux Mint. :)
You might like to follow the official installation guide carefully: Install Linux Mint.
When you reach the point where you have to choose an installation type (item 5.), select the option "Something else". It is the only installation type which permits you to create a separate disk partition for your /home directories.
A brief instruction on how to create a separate /home filesystem, located on a separate disk partition (on a different harddisk .e.g), can be found further down in the Installation Guide under FAQ on Partitioning.

If Something Else is a bit too steep, you can ignore the HDD for a bit and do an automatic install to the SSD. When it's all working from one drive, tell Linux to mount Something Else on top of the /home folder, like a large file-system on the hard drive containing a copy of the SSD /home folder.
