The monitor on my laptop is messed up so I've been connecting it to my TV via HDMI to use it.
After it starts up, the TV via HDMI, is just the "extension" sceen so I can't see the menu / desktop. UNTIL of course I hit fn F8 and swap screen then it works.
Is there a way for Linux to automatically look for the HDMI connection first and connect? It would save me getting up to swap it each time I restart. OR set it so that It's always a Mirror of the Monitor? Either one would work I guess but I'd prefer the laptop monitor was black instead of the messed up white disgrace that is "leaving it on the side of a bed beside a friend"
Running 18.2 Cinnamon 64 bit on an Asus laptop
Thanks!

Re: Boot to HDMI?
It may differ on a laptop.. I can set whichever screen my desktop boots to by simply selecting 'primary' for the desired monitor.
