Hello all
I recently installed Linux Mint 18.3 x64 and after the installation completes, the system reboots, I get the GRUB menu, and just a black screen thereafter, no video. I have edited the GRUB selection and tried adding "nomodeset" that I've seen on other forum posts without success.
I've done a bit of research and it appears that some AMD cards really have issues with Mint. My machine has a Radeon R9 270X card in it.
Any advice on how to get this to boot with video would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: No boot after GRUB - Radeon R9 270x
I should mention that I did attempt to install the proprietary AMD drivers and have just found out they apparently are not compatible with Linux Mint and my card.. so I'm trying a fresh install without using AMD drivers.. will update once complete.
UPDATE: Fresh install, still no video after GRUB...
