dual boot mint and slackware slacko troubles

Post by omeyehead »

I recently installed "slacko" slackware alongside mint 13 on my legacy p4 dell, its a 15 yr old machine. Slacko does not use grub to boot it uses a program called grub4dos. Neither boot program recognizes the other OS. I can boot slacko via the disk. If I fire the machine it automatically loads Mint which is cool with me but it would be nice to be able to choose without the extra trouble. Ive used mint for about 5yrs now, former ubuntu user, and have never had to deal with grub so know very little. Any help would be much appreciated and thanks Mint community. Thanks Pierre! Solved!

it would seem that both your "slackware" & your 'LM13' - - are a bit out-dated.
:o
you may be more prudent in updating your version of LinuxMint,
and then running that "slackware" inside a VirtualBox within the LinuxMint system.

what is the spec's of the CPU & the RAM - for that Dell ?.
