After setting up a new partition table, I click through to actually start the install. However, during the "copy files" process, I keep getting the CD/DVD read error. BUT I AM BOOTING FROM USB!!! I am very confused. I am getting the what-seems-to-be-common error shown here (pulled from askubuntu forum, but same thing I'm seeing)
Code: Select all
[Errno 5] Input/output error This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the CD/DVD drive lens (cleaning kits are often available from electronics suppliers), to check whether the hard disk is old and in need of replacement, or to move the system to a cooler environment.
Air conditioning is working right now ... so I guess could there an issue with the Mintstick? I can actually boot to it, so I guess that's what's confusing me.
suggestions? Unplug the CD drive?
