Another Boot Repair, dual boot

Post by Taildragger »

I went from Mint 17.2 to 17.3 (thru Update Manager), then to 18.3 and then 19.3 all in one day. I ran into the blinking screen problem with 19, so re-installed 18. 3, which works, but now my boot is all messed up. System is Asus, Intel i7, UEFI, Windows 10 and Mint. Used boot-repair (twice), but I now get 7 options on the Boot screen, and none of them take me into windows.

If I change the boot order in the UEFI, I get to windows, but it takes me to a blue screen that asks what language keyboard I want…..

Will post picture, and also the results of the Boot-repair findings. Would greatly appreciate the help, this has been bugging me for a week.

Did the boot-repair thing twice

Try it like this:
In a terminal type or copy/paste:

Code: Select all

os-prober
It should show Win and any other installed os
If that looks right then in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo update-grub
Reboot and everything should be peachy
curious: which taildraggers?
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.

all41, thanks for the reply. I ended up going back to 18.3, but still had boot problems. Had to use boot repair, AND could only get into the blue intro screen on Win10, and followed that to it's repair thing, which repaired it's own boot.

Taildraggers? I was in Radio Controlled planes for about 5 years, and liked the planes and the name. Thanks again
