usb drive with linux install does not show up as boot option on new mintbox 2 mini

Post by robolob » Tue Jul 17, 2018 8:05 am

hi, on my new mintbox 2 minis i 'delete' into the aptio boot but my installation usb drive refuses to show up as a boot option. all i see is the preinstalled ubuntu. the same drive shows up on other american megatrend boot utilities without problem. i want to do a fresh install of linux mint with xfce. would anyone be so kind to suggest a way how i can get the installation drive to show up? many thanks,

Maybe, the problem is USB 3.0. If so, try using a USB 2.0 Flash-drive instead of USB 3.0. Maybe, certain computers only work with Live Linux USB 2.0 Flash-drives.

In my computer, to boot USB Flash-drives, I had to select "USB HDD" as the 1st boot device.
