Hello there,
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad with Trisquel but I can’t get on with it – I lack techie knowhow to be honest, which doesn’t help.
So, trying to instal Linux Mint from a disk, I’m unable to get to where I can ask the laptop to boot from the external HD. I’m comfortable with what needs doing after this but I’m stuck.
I’ve tried doing the usual F2, F5, F12 etc but can’t get to where I might recognise where I am.
Any help really appreciated.
Many thanks
Kevin

Re: Trisquel to Mint
So you basically just need to get into the BIOS? What exact model of Thinkpad are we talking about?
If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!
Re: Trisquel to Mint
I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T450s. Almost immediately after I hit the button to boot the machine, a message is displayed "To interrupt normal start up press ENTER". Doing so will display several options. Pressing F12 will lead you to a screen which allows you to choose how to boot from a CD or USB drive.
I have no idea whether your Lenovo displays the same message but if so, the above may help you.
