Linux mint 19 with Luks no boot

Hi,

I've tried researching the issue for hours, but without luck.
I'm using this guide:

to configure and install linux mint persistent installation (lvm+luks) on a usb stick.
I configured everything like in the manual, and the usb boot successfully however keep repeating the message
failed to connect to lvmetad. falling back to device scanning
Reading all physical volume. this may take a while.

this message goes endlessly, I tried understanding what I did wrong, without luck.
I used sdbX in the manual as I installed mint from another USB, and applied the crypttab UUID.

please help
