Sorry, I have no experience installing missing Qualcomm Atheros Wifi driver in LM 17.x.

Installing missing Broadcom Wifi driver, yes.

Okay, so I found a link that makes the instructions a little more clear, even though it seems to point to a different tar file.
https://github.com/satishbabariya/Qualc ... /README.md

But the instructions still assume that I have physical access to the router and an ethernet cord, which I don't. How would these directions need to be adjusted to fix the files via USB?

Also, I downloaded the tar file from the other link that was posted, since the hardware supposedly matches.
https://askubuntu.com/questions/708061/ ... stallation
https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel ... 2-1.tar.gz

But the git file information (https://github.com/kvalo/ath10k-firmware) is extremely confusing and unintuitive, as I have no way of telling which file(s) I actually need.

Any assistance is appreciated.

I may have stumbled upon the cause of the problem while trying to install a different distro. It seems that the network card needs two specific non-free firmware files in order to operate. Those files are:

ath10k/pre-cal-pci-0000:02:00.0.bin
ath10k/cal-pci-0000:02:00.0.bin

Do you think trying to get these files in here will fix the problem? How do I obtain them, and how would I go about installing them?

Also, somewhat related, MAC spoofing is something that is highly desirable for me. Are these firmware files going to interfere with my ability to do this? If they do, are there any USB network interfaces that can do this that you would recommend?

Why do I have to bump this topic multiple times to get your attention? It's been a week since the last response and I haven't been able to solve this issue on my own. I found some potential leads but I still need help with this.

I was mildly irritated with your sluggishness before. Now I'm getting angry. This problem isn't solved. Stop treating it like it is.
