[SOLVED] Kernel upgrade breaks HDMI & Networking

Post by FuLl » Fri Aug 17, 2018 6:23 pm

Mint 18.3 on Dell Inspiron laptop, & everything is fine on the 4.15.0-20-generic kernel.

However when I try to boot into 4.15.0-32-generic, I lose HDMI & both wired & wireless networking.

Not sure how to fix it.

From the working kernel do in terminal

Code: Select all

sudo apt install --reinstall linux-modules-extra-4.15.0-32-generic
Reboot into 4.15.0-32 and see if it is fixed
