I am new to linux and have been trying it out for and it is great. The only problem I can't seem to figure out is that whenever I attempt to shutdown my computer it ends up rebooting. Regardless of whether I use the GUI, or terminal with:
Code: Select all
sudo shutdown -h now
I also try this command with different arguments with the same results (-H, -P)
I have also tried these changing the grub file to add acpi arguement.
first apci=off and then acpi=force
Code: Select all
sudo vi /etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=off"
Code: Select all
sudo vi /etc/default/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=force"
Code: Select all
#!bin/bash
ifconfig eno1 down
exit 0
Code: Select all
sudo vi /etc/init.d/shutdownScript.sh
sudo chmod a+x shutdownScript.sh
sudo chmod 777 shutdownScript.sh
sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/shutdownScript.sh /etc/rc0.d/K99_shutdown
sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/shutdownScript.sh /etc/rc6.d/K99_shutdown
sudo chmod a+x /etc/rc0.d/K99_shutdown /etc/rc6.d/K99_shutdown
I am debating abandoning mint because I am just uncomfortable having my computer constantly running.
Please help!
Thanks for any help you can give.
