Post by VK4BDJ » Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:42 am

Hi All......wanted to have Mint 7 on a 80ghz h/d that i had Ubuntu 9.04 on
used the Live CD to do the install and set the partitioner to use half of the h/d for Mint 7
install went ok and have the Mint startup screen.....when i let Mint startup all i get is a screen with a mouse arrow in the centre and it wont boot into the Mint desktop.....reboot and use the boot screen to go to Ubuntu 9.04 and it comes up with the Ubuntu desktop ok

any ideas of a fix

It seems at first look like it may be a bad CD.
Did the md5 sums check out at all stages of downloading and burning the CD?
Have you tried the disk on another system to see if it works?
Can you also give us some information about your computer?

Did you get this resolved? I am having the same problem. I would reinstall, but I am not sure what that would do to my initial install, overwrite it or beside it and winxp.
