unable to shrink sda2

Hello,
I have converted my relative to go in for Mint.I am trying to shrnk sda2 but gparted does not allow me to do it. Pleasse help

You'll need to shrink the drive from within Windows. (once done, leave it as free space, so then you can format it as ext4 from within Gparted or the Mint Live system)

It has 4gb memory and core 2 duo Intel processor. I hope enough to run Cinnamon Mint 19.
Now it has another problem. It doesn't go beyond first screen hit ESC for set up. It just hangs there. When it worked a few hours ago, I had run mem test which is ok.
Looks like a hardware problem.

Any suggestions please?

For installing Cinnamon, I would be more concerned with the video/graphics hardware. As you have probably read already here in the forums that Cinnamon requires 3D capable graphics hardware (higher end the better). Otherwise you will overuse the CPU for rendering Cinnamon 3D graphics.

Best way might be to live USB test of Cinnamon. Which of Mate and Xfce versions lighter among the two?
