[Solved] Long boot time LM 19

Hello,

Since I deleted an old LM 18.3 EFi entry, I have had a slow boot time. I already tried to load old kernel in vain.
LM 19 on usb stick is faster than my installed LM 19.

It's a kernel bug. There's a workaround listed in the link. Post back if you need help with the fix.

I think I've found a workaround for this issue, in my case adding 'acpi_osi=' to the linux kernel parameters solved it.
I am running a Dell Inspiron 15 5577 (with latest BIOS, v1.1.0).

For a permanent solution, I changed this line at:

```/etc/default/grub

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi="

```

and then you have to run:
```
$ sudo update-grub
```

Ok, with the trackpad, try this:

sudo apt install --reinstall xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

As for the slow boot, there is absolutely no indication in the output that you've provided as to what the problem might be. It could be hardware. You're going to have to inspect the logs in /var/log, possibly start with the looking at the output of dmesg to see if you can pin down a suspect.
