Hi everyone,
Haven't been on forum for years - 'cause I have not had any problems until now.
I have bought a new laptop - HP 250 G6.
First time since Ubuntu 8.04 I have had an instal problem
Have tried install with and without secure boot (changed in BIOS), with and without dowloading of drivers etc during install, with EUFI and with Legacy.
With install 1st time, gets to configure hardware and roles on and on trying to find camera - left on overnight and still going this morning.
With install next time gets to Grub 2 install - past the configure hardware bit - and hangs again looking for camera.
When live from USB - all works extremely well, but cannot find camera. Installed 'Cheese', but still no camera.
Anyway, the camera seems to be the problem - any suggestions?
thanks
Dave

Re: New Install Hanging on Camera
What version of Mint are you trying to install?
Re: New Install Hanging on Camera
Sorry - LM19 Mate 64 bit - the lastest download as of yesterday.

Hi dave911,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum!
It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" and "lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.
install the great "guvcview" webcam application from the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM) and try that.
Hope this helps ...
