Won't boot after installation

Post by gtpender »

I've been struggling to get Mint 19 to boot on my new PC build. After I turn on the system the keyboard and mouse get power and I can see that the SSD is running, but the monitor is blank. I have force quit the system and restart to sometimes get to GRUB. From there I can only boot into recovery mode. Anything else will result in a blank screen. Sometimes l get this ACPI error too.

In recovery, everything works perfectly. Mint even recognized Bluetooth that my previous Windows 10 install couldn't.

Here are my specs.

I've updated BIOS for the MOBO, and updated to the current stable kernel. I've tried a couple of GRUB edits too. I'm guessing that it's a video issue. Would a graphics card that has better linux support benifit at all?

See this site which recommends iommu=soft to the kernel boot parameters.
