Re: Preserve /home
Choose the manual / 'something else' installation option, point to the existing home partition to be mounted as /home again, and make very sure the box on 'format' is not ticked.

Re: Preserve /home
I burned a disc of 19 after verifying the download. What's the current way to verify the DVD?
Re: Preserve /home
I'm not sure that's a thing. Well, apparently it is, but I've never bothered.
You verified the download, and that's what counts. Will it run?

Re: Preserve /home
At the menu you get when booting the DVD (see example here: https://linuxmint-installation-guide.re ... /boot.html), choose the option "verify the integrity of the medium"What's the current way to verify the DVD?
A reboot is usually necessary after that.
Dont forget to make a backup of all your important data before proceeding to the installation.
Re: Preserve /home
Just from memory, when the disk is finished burning, the process continues for awhile....it is verifying it right then by default.
I just double checked, and at least that is the default behavior of Brasero.
