Username/password required to install

Postby morrison » Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:05 am

Using the Linux Mint 7 Universal Edition distributed by Linux Format Magazine for August 2009, partway through installing, the panel calls for a username and password. Down the track I expect to be asked to state what username etc I prefer, but not at this stage.
No obvious trials work, such as demo and demo or even root and root.
I have installed some 12 distros over the years with no problem such as this except for PCLinux where the demo/demo combination was clearly shown as an option to try the distro as a live CD.

Please tell me what I enter for the trial of the live CD to continue.

BTW the disk from Linux Format is one of these "EcoDisc" terribly thin apparently fully bendable units. My Benq DVD drive does not like it. It has required many tries for the bootable disk to actually boot my PC.

Try username Mint and no password. This has worked in other cases of this sort
