Mint 19 Cinnamon Running in software rendering mode

Post by Slowmopickle »

Solved my boot issue following this viewtopic.php?f=46&t=122257

However, it booted and is now stuck in software rendering mode instead of using my GPU. Here is a quick run of inxi -Fxz thanks in advance.

Mate & Xfce are lighter, so you might try one of those to see if any improvement.

Edit: Oops, this was intended for your previous freeze problem.

No worries I am going to try one of them anyhow to see if that resolves it since I believe mate and xfce don't require 3D rendering like Cinnamon?

Not sure, but yeah go ahead & try it, nothing to lose. Mate works well on my old laptops, Cinnamon not.
