SOLVED..My error NO- trouble installing 19.1 from 18.3

Post by mintyfresh2 »

Hi Everyone,
I upgraded from 17 t0 18.3, about 2 years ago and it was just about flawless.
I was somewhat timid to try 19, as folks at the time were having issues. But after reading about

https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3715
Decided to try this install So, I took a "Timeshift snapshot", and proceeded....
and hit a snag, which I don't have a clue about:

I get these error messges during install

E:gconf2:Dependancy problems - leaving triggers unprocessedgconf2

Processing was halted because there were too many errors.
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

------------------------------------------------
!! ERROR: Failed to upgrade some of the packages. Please review the error message,
use APT to fix the situation and try again.
!! Exiting.

and the installation halts

I've no idea where to look for error code (1), because the install is incomplete
.
As always, Thanks for your efforts

Explained:
I had just run Update manager prior to the new install, and got an "Up To Date"
I then realized the UTD, was for 18.3
just to check, I ran it again. and I had a swarm of new updates, which when completed,
finished the install, and deleted the error messages.
I write to you now, using the NEW LM 19.1 Tara!

18.3 was getting very slow, taking up to 3 minutes just to boot, and taking a screenshot well lets just say it was a time waster. in file manager I'd first have to click the folder then dbl click it to open. It got very annoying.
I tested a few apps and they open blazingly fast, so I am really a Happy Camper.

Apologies if I wasted anyone's time.

It's never a waste of time when you define a problem and find a solution within the same thread!

Good work!
