Re: Recommended CPU
One of the differences between the live session and the disk install is the device interface. The interface to your hard disk could be wrong. Check the BIOS settings for the disk. You can get all sorts of weird corruption and errors when the BIOS is set the wrong way for the motherboard and disk combination.
Re: Recommended CPU
What would I look for? I set up the bios as per the ASUS user guide. Everything is set up to default automatic settings. I can run other OS live sessions, install from them and then boot to the new install - no problem.
Re: Recommended CPU
If other OS installs ok, it is probably not the BIOS.
Re: Recommended CPU
Installed 19.1 xfce 32bit. it booted from HDD first time. No display sever down problem. 19.1 xfce Live session and installed are sluggish compared to 18.1 xfce and other Mint live sessions. 19.1 ran xsane and Gimp.
Re: Recommended CPU
I’m running LM XFCE 32 bit on a 8.1” Acer Aspire One AOA150 netbook with a Atom 1.6 GHz N270 32 bit chip and 1.5 GB RAM.
Definitely not a gamer but boots & runs OK for net surfing and word processing (LibreOffice).
When the main distros drop 32 bit support next round it’ll be the death knell for these little blue netbooks.
