Mint 19 grub2 crashes install (solved)
Hello again. I've been trying, in vain, to install Linux Mint 19 on an Acer Aspire ES 15. I am using the dvd drive and have configured the bios (UEFI) to boot from that drive. The disk loads and starts to install. Once it gets to install grub2 it crashes.
I then tried 18 to see if it was the install but the same result. Can anyone guide me through how to get round this problem?
Many thanks, Chris

Re: Mint 19 grub2 crashes install
Please post an inxi -Fxz report. This will give us a concise overview on your hardware and on how Mint sees it.
Here is how to generate the report and post it:
Boot from your installation media
Open a terminal window. Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines.
Execute the command
exactly as it has been typed here.
Mark the complete text output which inxi -Fxz will display with your mouse.
Press the keyboard shortcut <Shift><Ctrl>C to copy the marked text into the clipboard.
Enclose the results between the code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply then paste <Ctrl>V them in your reply between the code markers.
The results will help us to help you.

Re: Mint 19 grub2 crashes install
Your processor Celeron is too weak for Cinnamon. Please use either Mate or XFCE desktop.

Re: Mint 19 grub2 crashes install
Is win8 or 10 installed on your Acer? If not, go into BIOS and make sure Secure Boot is disabled.
