[Solved] Fatal Error whilst trying to install mint

Post by lilman2727 » Sun Sep 08, 2019 11:59 am

Whilst trying to install Mint, I get an error saying "Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sda. Executing 'grub-install /dev/sda' failed. This is a fatal error." I had installed Manjaro before this, but didn't really like it. I've installed Mint (with the same thumb drive) on my laptop without any problems (completely new drive there). Any tips how to solve this? Bare in mind that this is my first time using Linux, been a Windows user for my entire life.
Manjaro worked flawlessly, but Mint just feels better.
Thanks for any help

I set a PK key in BIOS, then deleted it. Once in LiveBoot Mint, formatted the drive I was installing to... Don't know how I did it, but it works, I'm happy. :)
