Linux Mint login page stock on loop

Post by JeeNutZ » Mon Sep 09, 2019 8:41 pm

Hello,

Yesterday, I decided to take off the login password a old computer on Linux since we use it as a media centre in the living room but, since I did that, Linux login page is stock on loop. When I click the connexion button, the login disappear for a few seconds just as if it was signing in regularly but then, it goes back to the login page and it starts again.

Basically, there is no way now that I can sign in and use the computer and everything was fine before I had that apparently not so strange idea to take off the login password.

Is there something that I can do beside to reinstall the Linux system from scratch?

Thanks for your help

Users not needing a password you should be able to click on their username and just press enter.
Is this not happening?

It is exactly what is not happening. I press on the username and instead of login in, the login page appears again everytime.
