PlymouthHD runs at 100% CPU After Login

Post by zaileion » Sat Sep 21, 2019 2:33 pm

I changed my boot animation from gnomelook.org. I selected the Linux mint with the space background plymouth theme. Link: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1294920/

now when i boot up and login my CPU runs at 100% and running top says its PlymouthHD 100% CPU. so I kill -9 <pid> and it works just fine but i would prefer not to have to run the kill command every time i login...

any suggestions would be cool

Google has proved to be less than helpful other then to show a few bogs from a few years ago...

Thanks!!

Love Linux Mint!

So it looks like it was the 5.2.2 Kernel. I switched in GRUB to the 5.0 kernel and it seems to be working just fine. I removed the 5.2.2 kernel and so far, so good...

I will mark this as Solved

So it wasnt the kernel, but i just used time machine to shift back before i modified the plymouth boot animation and evertything is running fine. So it looks like LInux Mint Mate 19 and modifications to Phymouth boot logos is broken...
