PIO Only on EXT3 drive under Windows?

Postby themacmeister » Thu Jul 30, 2009 3:32 am

My Linux drive is showing up as PIO4 mode under windows. I hope it is not doing this under Linux, as no DMA would kill performance. It seems that DMA is working under Linux - what is a foolproof way of checking? hdparam?

many thanks

--windows, usually only for slower speed devices, like cd/dvd drives..

In Linux, Yes hdparm or sdparm or the bios of the machine, shows DMA is enabled
