Mint 19.2 slow boot, and login

Post by Trollkin »

I decided to install 19.2 to one of my older laptops, but now it hangs on boot sitting on a black screen for several minutes before displaying the login screen, and when login it goes to a black screen with a blinking line in the top left corner of the screen hangs like that a few minutes then finally displays the desktop?

Re: Mint 19.2 slow boot, and login

I would try going back to the 4.15.0-20 kernel on your 12+ year old machine. If that doesn't help, I'd recommend a reinstall without LVM.
