Post by vliscony »

I received the following error in doing the updates for the SSD

rogier@rogier-All-Series:~$ xed admin:///etc/fstab

** (xed:5328): WARNING **: 01:03:19.642: The specified location is not mounted

not sure what to make of this.

It's a harmless notice. As long as Xed opens with /etc/fstab (as it should, I've tested it), it's OK.

It probably has to do with the double authentication of admin://: the first authentication is for mounting the file, the second for root permissions for editing it.

By the way: when applying my SSD how-to you're not doing updates for the SSD, but you're tweaking the system for it.

I don't have an answer but while waiting for someone with knowledge to help ... here's a thread posted with the same error message and what worked for them in their case ... viewtopic.php?t=279028
EDIT: I see Pjotr posted while I was composing this. That is definitely someone with knowledge to help !!!.

thanks, and yes, re the upgrade... I was upgrading from 18.3 to 19.2 but I realize that that setting is for the hardware. However apparently it went beack to the default during the upgrade?
